Meet the mountain

The approach: Montara Mountain Trail from San Pedro Valley Park, then North Peak access

Summit finish: The maintained North Peak summit finish.

A coastal summit between the Pacific and the Peninsula watershed. Start in San Pedro Valley Park, follow the Montara Mountain approach, and connect to North Peak. SFPUC describes the final summit trail as short and steep; that is only the finish, not the full hike. Use the park and watershed maps together and stay on designated trails.

Plan the complete approach and return, with layers for changing coastal weather.
