Meet the mountain
The approach: Parks Creek Trailhead, PCT, Deadfall Lakes Trail, and Mount Eddy Trail
Summit finish: Mount Eddy’s summit beyond Deadfall Crest.
Alpine lakes, wildflowers, and a grand view of Shasta make Mount Eddy a NorCal treasure. From Parks Creek, follow the PCT to the Deadfall Lakes route and continue up the summit trail beyond Deadfall Crest. The trail association describes the summit outing as roughly ten miles return with about 2,400 feet of climbing. Confirm seasonal road and snow conditions.
Keep track of the lake and summit junctions and allow time for the final climb at altitude.
