Quest challenge 7/10 · Grand Expedition
Quest estimate for the described approach: endurance, altitude, and technical terrain combined. Conditions can change the difficulty. This is not an AllTrails or climbing grade.
Meet the mountain
The approach: South Climb from Cold Springs
Summit finish: Mount Adams’ summit beyond Pikers Peak.
A broad Cascade volcano with an immense upper mountain and a substantial snow-climbing route. The South Climb from Cold Springs is the reference approach. Pikers Peak is a false summit along the way; the climb continues to Mount Adams’ summit. Conditions, weather, snow skills, and the climbing pass all shape the itinerary.
Prepare specifically for the snow route and preserve a clear turnaround plan.
