Meet the mountain
The approach: Easton Glacier summit route
Summit finish: Mount Baker’s upper summit beyond the Roman Wall.
A glacier-covered Cascade summit that makes roped glacier travel central to the ascent. This rating uses the Easton Glacier route; Coleman–Deming is a separate approach. Above camp, the summit climb continues across the glacier and up the upper mountain. Crevasses, snow conditions, and trailhead access can change the itinerary.
Prepare the rope team, glacier travel, rescue skills, and descent plan for the route.
A SUMMIT QUEST TALL TALE · FICTION
