Meet the mountain

The approach: Sulphide Glacier and summit pyramid

Summit finish: Mount Shuksan’s summit above the rock pyramid.

A striking mountain that combines glacier travel with an exposed rock finish. The Sulphide Glacier approach still leaves the summit pyramid to climb, with a technical descent afterward. Snow-to-rock transitions vary through the season. Use current ranger information and a route-specific climbing plan, including overnight arrangements where needed.

Plan the transition between glacier and rock, and the descent from the pyramid.

The portrait fee

The mountain discovered it was in everyone’s landscape paintings and asked for royalties. Payment arrived as one flattering sunset. Its agent is calling that a strong opening offer.
